GM Coachwork is a family run business formed in 1988 by the current day CEO David Vooght. GM Coachwork is a leading convertor of wheelchair accesible vehicles, drive from wheelchair vehicles and minibuses. We also offer a wide range of mobility adaptations, vehicle hire, lift servicing and short notice day work fitting of seats, windows and niche applications such as dog vans, crew cabs and specialist applications.
Over the years the business has grown and developed into the successful operation it is today. The business is led by Managing Director Nigel Collins whose experience includes working at Airbus headquarters in Toulouse.
GM is an ISO 9001 quality business and a Motability Premier Partner. We are proud to have achieved membership on the Customer First scheme approved by Devon County Council's Trading Standards team. We employ over 80 staff dedicated to delivering an efficient and quality service.
We pride ourselves on our ability and skills to build quality purpose built vehicles to suit a variety of specialist needs. We operate from two main sites to the south of Exeter. Our company headquarters has been developed with easy access in mind for the disabled and wheelchair users who form a large part of our customers.
GM Coachwork prides itself on selecting quality suppliers to build its products and have strong links with many other companies in the motor industry. This enables us to maintain a steady supply of quality vehicles and parts sourced from market leading companies such as Unwin, Ricon, Autoadapt, AVS and Gliderite.
