Hire Purchase

What could be easier?

Hire Purchase is the most straightforward way to pay for your new vehicle by spreading the cost evenly over an agreed period of time.

Spreading the cost of your purchase over time makes it easy to budget and because your payments are fixed, you'll always know exactly how much you'll be spending.

Everything about Hire Purchase through GM Coachwork is straightforward, including the process.

Here's a step by step guide.

• You decide on the car you want.
• You choose the repayment period that's right for you.
• You agree a deposit and regular payment to suit your budget.
• At the end of the agreement, provided you've paid all the necessary payments, the car is yours to keep.

Lease Purchase

Lease Purchase is similar to Hire Purchase in many ways, except with Lease Purchase your regular payments are reduced because a lump sum final payment - based on the estimated resale value of the car - is deferred until the end of the agreement.

So you still own your new vehicle at the end of the agreement and have the security of fixed regular repayments - but for considerably less.

Who are they?

They are an established, traditional finance company, who have traded from their Southampton headquarters for 50 years, offering hire purchase, leasing and personal loan facilities, to help private and business customers buy new and used vehicles.

Are we safe dealing with them?

Southern are long standing members of The Finance and Leasing Association and operate within their Lending Code 2004 which can be inspected at www.fla.org.uk

What if I am not in full time employment or retired?

You do not need to be in full time employment to apply. Your ability to meet the monthly payment from income such as allowances or pension is the most important factor for Southern - they take their role as responsible lenders very seriously and endeavour to structure a financial repayment and term to suit your circumstances.

Do I have to pay a deposit?

Not in all cases - Southern try to structure the transaction to suit individuals circumstances and a deposit is not always necessary.

What periods can I repay over?

Between 12 and 60 months

A full written quotation will be provided upon request.

Will Southern provide finance to every applicant?

No. They cannot meet every applicants needs and will maintain their obligation to be a responsible and ethical lender.

How long must I wait for a decision on my finance application?

Southern will normally confirm their decision within a maximum 24 hours of receiving an application.

Contract Hire

Contract hire provides peace of mind by giving you a fixed monthly fee for hiring the vehicle.

You can drive the vehicle you want, but without the worries of depreciation or selling the car at the end of your finance agreement.

And for total peace of mind, you can pay a small additional amount to include maintenance cover within your regular payments - meaning that all you have left to pay for, is the fuel!
