Every GM Coachwork WAV is designed around the wheelchair passenger.
Comfort, safety and the passengers experience are all at the forefront of every GM conversion. Ensuring you have the maximum entrance headroom, the best interior space, a pleasant environment and good visibility are all top priorities.
Anti-slip flooring, low angle lightweight ramps and quality four point restraints help to keep the wheelchair passenger safe and secure while the drivers life is made as simple with options such as assisted ramps and powered tailgates.
The Motability Scheme can use your mobility allowance to help you obtain a suitable wheelchair accessible vehicle. There are two main options within the scheme:
Once you have chosen which option you wish to use, you then agree to pay over all, or part, of your allowance to Motability Operations for the duration of the contract hire or hire purchase agreement. Motability Operations is the organisation which operates the scheme on a not-for-profit basis and is owned by the UK's largest banks.
Our aim is to help you though the process of getting you the right car for your needs on Motability. Our trained advisors are on hand to guide you through the process from the initial enquiry all the way through to taking delivery of your new vehicle. The Motability Cars Scheme allows you to swap your mobility allowance for a wheelchair accessible vehicle, complete with full maintenance, repairs and insurance. You will normally keep your car for a period of five years, unless your disability needs change.
Accessing the Motability Cars Scheme really isn't complicated. If you receive Disability Living Allowance (Higher Rate Mobility Component) or War Pensioner's Mobility Supplement then you can qualify for a car.
